Training and mentoring for charity comms teams
Support for the people doing the work.
Good communications doesn't just depend on strategy and content - it depends on the people behind it feeling confident, equipped, and supported. Whether you're a comms professional looking for space to think and grow, or an organisation that wants to invest in your team's skills, this is where that happens.
I've been in your shoes. I've led in-house comms teams, run away days, supported colleagues into more senior roles, and navigated the pressure of doing more with less. That experience shapes everything I bring to training and mentoring - it's practical, grounded, and built around real challenges rather than theory.
Mentoring starts from £95/month. Team workshops and training from £400.

Frequently asked questions
-
Not at all. Some of the most valuable mentoring conversations happen with people who are mid-career - navigating more complexity, managing upwards, or trying to shift from reactive delivery to more strategic thinking.
Mentoring is for anyone who wants a thinking partner with relevant experience, whatever stage they're at.
-
Yes - team sessions are one of the things I most enjoy. I design every session around your organisation specifically, using your real campaigns, challenges, and context rather than generic examples.
Sessions can be half-day or full-day, and can cover areas including campaign planning, audience insight, messaging, social media, and brand.
-
Mentoring is primarily for people working in charity communications - that's where my experience is deepest and most useful.
Team training can be broader - I've delivered sessions for wider staff groups where building comms confidence and shared understanding of messaging is the goal. If you're unsure whether it's a fit, just ask.
-
Coaching tends to focus on drawing answers out of you through structured questions. Mentoring brings in the mentor's own experience - sharing what they've seen, what's worked, what hasn't.
My approach is mentoring-led, which means you get the benefit of 12+ years of real charity comms experience, not just reflective questions.

A one-off clarity session is great if you have a specific challenge to work through - a decision to make, a campaign to sense-check, or a moment where you just need focused thinking time.
Ongoing mentoring is better if you want consistent support over time, space to develop, and someone who builds real understanding of your role and context.
If you're not sure, get in touch and we'll work it out together.
-
Yes. A single half-day workshop can make a real difference - particularly if it's focused on a specific challenge your team is facing.
For individuals, a one-off clarity session at £225 is a good starting point if ongoing mentoring isn't feasible right now.
